You are familiar with a range of computer
software - DP, statistical packages, spreadsheets, etc. These
packages handle data, perform arithmetical calculations, retrieve
records, etc., but they are not INTELLIGENT. They may be
able to perform complex calculations very rapidly (and therefore
perform analyses that would take a very long time even with a
calculator) but they are not going to discover a new law of physics.
